-Troy McClure has joined MacLaren McCann in Toronto as a copywriting partner with art director Jamie Way. She was previously with TAXI, Toronto.

– BBDO Vancouver announced the promotion of Maureen Beston to the position of vice president, Vancouver media director, from her position of v-p associate media director. David Stanger, bbdo’s previous media director, is now senior v-p, director of business development.

– FCB Direct of Toronto has beefed up its creative department. New art directors are Curtis Wolowich, who comes from Young & Rubicam, and Andrew Pugsley, previously with Blitz Direct. Also joining the team are writers Siobhain O’Reilly, previously with Padulo Integrated and Robert E. Snow from Strategic Ampersand.

At FCB Direct Montreal, there have been two promotions on the account side, with Anne Fortin and Pam Salzman being named senior account managers.

– Tony Attanasio has been named vice-president, director of Sponsorship, Promotion and Special Events at Marketel in Montreal. Previous accomplishments include organizing Olympic Games competitions and establishing the Montreal International Marathon.

Also at Marketel, Marielle Seguin has been named group head on the recently acquired Mouvement des caisses Desjardin account.

– BCP Direct has appointed Edward Lawrence as associate creative director. He comes to bcp from Wunderman Cato Johnson, where he was senior art director, and Padulo Direct where he held a similar position.

– Leo Burnett in Toronto has hired Gail Yacula as an art director, to be partnered with copywriter Dan Zimmerman. Yacula comes to the agency from dmb&b.

– Monica Saldanha Dhar has joined Calexis in Toronto as art director. She comes to the agency from Dentsu Young & Rubicam in Bombay where she was creative director.
