Ted Rogers, Rogers Communications president and chief executive officer, announced Feb. 2 he has bought just under 8% of Maclean Hunter shares held by the public.
A Rogers board meeting was planned for Feb. 4 to discuss the acquisition of all outstanding mh shares not owned by that company itself.
A spokeswoman for the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission says the federal broadcast regulator has not received any application from either party.
