10 digital experts selected for DMA jury

Judging to commence soon, with final deliberations on Sept. 16

While many of you have been scrambling to complete your Digital Marketing Awards entries (you have until Wednesday now), our DMA co-chairs have been busy choosing their jury. And now they’re done.

Dawna Henderson, president and CEO of Henderson Bas Kohn, and Dominique Trudeau, executive creative director of Taxi Montreal, have hand-picked 10 digital marketing experts from across the country for their jury. The judges will complete a round of online scoring later this month to identify a short list of medal-contending work.

After that, the jury, along with Henderson and Trudeau of course, will convene in Toronto on Sept. 16 for a full day of discussion and debate about the merits and shortcomings of the work to determine gold, silver and bronze winners as well as the Best of Show.

“As a starting point, they had to be digitally smart – really smart,” said Henderson. “After that we were looking for people who have demonstrated as much strategic insight as creative skill, and for representation from both pure play digital and integrated settings. We think these folks meet those criteria and we can’t wait to get started.”

The 2011 DMA jury includes:

Virginia Magaletta, executive creative director, Twist Image, Montreal

Bob Beck, creative director, Dynamo, Montreal

Elana Gorbatyuk, freelance creative director, Montreal

Philippe Archontakis, partner/creative, Department, Montreal

Nikisha Reyes-Grange, marketing manager, Xbox, Toronto

Jason Theodor, creative, Blast Radius, Toronto

Tara Hauser-Pope, senior interactive manager, integrated marketing, Coca-Cola Canada

Jon Toews, creative and managing director, Mighty Digital, Toronto

Rob Sweetman, executive creative director, Dare, Vancouver

Jeff MacKay, creative, Extreme Group, Halifax.
