Doug Brown has become the new owner and president of Victoria-based Copeland Communications.

Billed as the city’s oldest agency, Copeland was founded in 1980 by Pam Middleton, Clare Copeland and Keith Dagg. Dagg retired in September 2009 leaving the agency presidency in the hands of his son, Steven Dagg.

Since joining Copeland in 2008 as managing director, Brown has shifted the focus of the agency onto digital and social media. “We remain an ideas company, ideas are what matter and what we do well,” he said. “We’re just using new ways of reaching our audience and bringing our ideas to life.”

Prior to Copeland, Brown held creative director positions with RMG Connect, MacLaren McCann Vancouver and Lowe Lintas Singapore.

Copeland’s client list includes Connect Hearing, BC Ferries and the Vancouver Sun and Province and Web Conferencing Solutions.
