3D Camera Company, the Toronto-based stereoscopic photography service, has hired Anita Gatto‘s New City to handle  PR, branded content development and business growth strategies.

“She understands financial planning and has passion for building business strategies that will naturally bring out the best PR for our company,” said Bill White, co-owner of 3D Camera Company (3DCC), in a statement.

Alongside White, 3DCC is co-owned by William Reeve and Lacia Kornylo. It was founded in 2006, and specializes in providing 3D image capture equipment to the film and broadcast industries.

Gatto said it’s too early to offer specifics, but that 3DCC is “looking at major media and consumer goods companies that are looking to tell a story.”

White and Gatto met last year at the launch of a music video that 3DCC had shot in 3D. “It wasn’t the in-your-face 3D that you see in Hollywood,” she said. “It was a dimension. It was adding a layer of art. That’s what sparked my interest.”

She said 3DCC is looking to become “a one stop shop for the 3D savvy world” by evolving their digital work, specifically through web series and digital branded content videos. “Bill White knows the equipment inside and out,” she said. “He was basically born with a camera in his hand.”

Gatto opened New City in January 2012 and recently opened an office in Los Angeles.
