Adidas and the Quebec government’s Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux both took home a Grand Créa in Montreal last night. It was the first time two different campaigns have taken home the Créa Awards’ top honour since the show was launched in 2005.

According to a release announcing the winners, the Créa jury awarded the Sid Lee-created Adidas Originals campaign because of the “impeccable quality of execution,” but also to acknowledge the significance of a Quebec agency doing work for an international brand on the global stage.

“Indeed, this campaign shows that creativity in Quebec can cross borders and achieve international recognition.”

The other Grand Créa went to MSSS for the LG2 created multimedia campaign to tackle problem gambling. “The remarkable integration of various communication supports deserved to be recognized,” said the statement from the jury.

More than 1,600 people attended the 4th annual Créa Awards at Montreal’s Stade Uniprix last night, presented by Les Éditions Infopresse to recognize the top advertising in Quebec. More than 60 agencies and advertisers submitted close to 800 ads in 25 categories. On top of the two Grand Créa awards, 20 Grand Prizes and 56 other awards were handed out.

Eleven agencies took home some hardware, though none more than LG2 which, aside from its Grand Créa, was awarded nine Grand Prizes and 19 other awards.

It was followed by Sid Lee which, aside from its Grand Créa, won four Grand Prizes and 12 other awards; BleuBlancRouge with one Grand Prize and seven other honours and Taxi, with three Grand Prizes and two other awards.
