Aegis Media Canada has named Caroline Gianias its new chief trading officer, effective immediately.

Gianias will be responsible for developing strategic alliances and multiplatform opportunities across media ownership groups. Working with Aegis’ strategy and insight divisions, she will work to ensure efficient and effective investment and activation of clients’ media solutions.

In a release, Aegis said that Gianias’ appointment aligns with its commitment to providing consistent standards across its networks: Carat, Vizeum and Aegis Media Deepblue.

The company said that it also recognizes a national approach focused on regional capabilities, particularly in Quebec. Martin Mailly, vice-president of trade and media activation, will work closely with Gianias to ensure a “seamless approach” for the Quebec market.

Gianias has held a series of key executive positions with Aegis since joining the company in 1997, as VP of broadcast services with Carat. She was most recently EVP, trade and communication activation, and has been “closely involved” with several major account wins including General Motors, Disney Studios, Disney Parks and Resorts and Staples.
