Aldo Inspiration Campaign

Aldo pushes originality in new campaign

Global campaign draws from nine personalities and their sources of inspiration

Aldo is finding inspiration in the ordinary with a new global campaign that celebrates individuality and personal style.

The Montreal-based footwear and accessory retailer has enlisted nine personalities, each chosen based on their unique styles and creative outlets, to represent the brand. The cast, which includes model and TV personality Irene Kim, DJ Will Power, and ballet dancer Joshua Thew, will all appear in the creative, which is presented as two side-by-side images that play off each other conceptually.

On one side of each ad, there’s portrait of each individual, shot by photographer Matteo Montanari. The second side features a still-life of a shoe, along with things that inspire each person’s individual creativity, such as pencils, model airplanes and colours.

“Through our extensive consumer insights initiatives, we’ve learned that our customer finds style inspiration from ever-changing sources and is not beholden to the ‘fashion establishment,’” said Erwin Hinteregger, chief marketing officer at Aldo in a release. “It was refreshing to uncover how fluid and organic inspiration can be whether it’s from friends, blogs, observations on the street, an art show, or their own style intuition – said simply, inspiration truly is everywhere.”

“Inspiration is Everywhere” will include print, digital, OOH and social. The campaign will run throughout the fall and winter.
