Industry veteran Rory Amelio has become partner and vice-president of national sales at Adapt Media, a Toronto-based out-of-home advertising company.

Amelio was most recently vice-president of business development at Newad where he spent 13 years before leaving late last year.

In his new role, Amelio will be responsible for growing the agency’s national footprint and developing new advertising properties.

“Partnering with Amelio means we have the experience to take our company to the next level,” said Jamie Thompson, Adapt’s president.

“We were very impressed with the scope of the network he built with Newad, and are excited to have him join the Adapt family,” Thompson said. “His knowledge of the industry, particularly in sales and network development, will be a huge asset to our company.”

Amelio has been active in numerous industry associations and charities including the National Advertising Benevolent Society, the Out-of-home Marketing Association of Canada, the Canadian Outdoor Measurement Bureau and the Canadian Out-of-home Digital Association.

“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Adapt,” said Amelio, in a release. “The company has an amazing framework in place and so many exciting new developments on the horizon.”
