Success in the digital media sphere requires an abundance of creativity and intelligence. And while the industry is postively buzzing with bright, original thinkers, Marketing, Canwest and Postmedia are once again looking for one extraordinary individual who rose above the rest in the past 12 months to receive the hounour of Digital Media Agency Player of the Year.

The award recognizes an individual media buyer or planner who has helped create stand-out work in the digital space.

Last year’s winner, Daryl Stansfield of PHD Canada, was lauded for breakout executions for BMW and Scotiabank, driven by his knowledge of online trends and keen judgement to know what would work for each client.

Marketing is now accepting nominations for the 2010 edition, which will be judged by a panel of the magazine’s editors, experts from Postmedia’s digital sales team, and the co-chairs of the Digital Marketing Awards–Deborah Hall from Web2Mobile, and Philippe Meunier, chief creative officer at Sid Lee.

Only work from Sept. 2009 to Aug. 2010 will be considered. Nominations–which should include nominees’ CVs, examples of their work from the past year and a letter of explanation– will be accepted until Oct. 4 and can be sent to Marketing managing editor David Brown at DavidJ.Brown@marketingmag.rogers.com.

The winner will be announced at the Digital Marketing Awards on Nov. 2 in Toronto.
