Instagram is set to start selling ads within the next year, according to director of operations Emily White, who has recently met with big brands like Coca-Cola and Ford to discuss Instagram as an ad platform. White says the offering will be pared down compared to the deep ad options provided by Instagram’s parent company, Facebook.

Trident put a Vine ad on TV
Starting Monday, youth network Fuse will be airing a six-second video in the U.S. promoting Trident that was originally posted to the brand’s Vine account. It will air 200 times through the next two weeks and is not the first Vine to make it to broadcast; on Monday night a Dunkin’ Donuts Vine video debuted on ESPN.

BroadbandTV, now the fourth-largest multichannel YouTube network, also announced it has more than 100 million subscribers, news that comes on the heels of a $36-million investment by Europe’s RTL Group.

Anti-smoking campaign draws huge results
An anti-smoking ad campaign that ran in 2012 in the U.S. reportedly inspired 1.6 million smokers to attempt to quit smoking, according to a new study by U.S. health officials. Of those who tried to kick the habit, more than 100,000 succeeded – and much of that success has been attributed to the campaign.
