The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has put out a request for proposals for a media planning and buying agency for a three-year term with an option to renew for up to two years.

TBWAVancouver is incumbent, and is entering the fifth year of its contract, triggering an automatic procurement process review.

The BCLC’s media spend is between $14 and $18 million, with over half spent on television and the balance spent on radio, print, digital and out-of-home. As well as lottery products sold in over 3,000 retail locations, BCLC operates PlayNow, an online gambling service, 17 casinos and 15 community gaming centres under the Chances Brand.

The closing date for applications is July 28 with presentations for shortlisted agencies planned for Sept. 27.

A spokesperson for BCLC said the crown corporation will issue an RFP for marketing communications this summer. Currently the three roster agencies are TBWAVancouver, DDB Canada and Cossette West.
