Montreal agency BCP has landed a new, national account, Imvescor Restaurant Group Inc.

Starting May 1, BCP will be in charge of traditional and online creative, strategy and media for Mikes, Bâton Rouge, Scores and Pizza Delight restaurants across Canada.

There was no review, said Jean-Louis Dufresne, vice-president and spokeperson for BCP. “They approached us and we presented a global approach for their brands. I think what seduced them was the fact we could provide them with everything under one roof, even on the print side since we have our own print shop.”

BleuBlancRouge previously held the account.

Though Dufresne declined to provide any details on strategies or creative–“It’s too soon,” he said–BCP’s first work should be in market by June.

“BCP has always said it was possible to create national campaigns from Montreal. Today is an important milestone for our growth. We’re very proud and happy Imvescor trusts us.”

The agency made the announcement solely relying on social medias.

A tweet from late this morning confirmed the win: “Imvescor assigns BCP the responsibility of all their brands across Canada: Mikes, Scores, Bâton Rouge, Pizza Delight.”

“We decided to innovate and try this way of functioning to see how the news would echoe. So far [e.g. less than an hour after the announcement] the response is pretty good. We might stop sending news releases. The goal is also to help build a community around our Facebook page and Twitter feed.”

@MikesRestaurants was the first to tweet about it, welcoming BCP as its new agency.

Dufresne added that 2010 was a transitional year for the agency, following the departure of its president John Parisella, now Quebec’s Delegate General in New York city. Alain Bergeron, was named president in October.

“Of course, one of his main goals was to develop new business. BCP already had a strong history, but this is a new breath.”

BCP will be hiring to meet the needs of its new client, said Dufresne.
