Toronto agency Blammo Worldwide has bolstered its senior ranks with the addition of two new partners: Christine McNab was named managing director and Ritchie Emslie is now chief strategic officer.
Both are high-profile veterans with major track records: McNab worked most recently at DraftfCB on the Kraft, Nestle and Eli Lilly accounts, and Emslie was a consultant for Zulu Alpha Kilo on Coca-Cola and Corona. McNab and Emslie worked together at Draftfcb in the past.
Andrew Simon, Blammo’s chief creative officer, described the talent coup as “a big moment to be celebrated. McNab and Emslie have both received glowing reviews from colleagues.
Simon lauded Ritchie’s “great strategic mind… He’s a real strategic planner who is able to get close to consumers. His thoughts and ideas were exactly aligned with ours.
McNab, meanwhile, brings a vast degree of client experience to Blammo.
“Somebody joked that she has literally worked on every body part; there’s probably not a product category she hasn’t worked on,” Simon said. “She’s exceptionally easy to get along with but also really takes command of a situation and is a true leader.
“You know it’s right when it feels like you’ve been working together for a year and it’s only been two weeks,” he added.
The announcement was made public with a comedic video showing industry luminaries such as Arthur Fleischmann and Geoffrey Roche putting their worst foot forward in unsuccessful job interviews.
These appointments bring the number of partners at the 30-person agency to six. The others include Simon, chairman Alan Gee, CFO Nancy Christou and head of creative services Gord Cathmoir.
