After a “highly competitive pitch” that included bids from Sapient Nitro, Cundari, Isobar and One, Blast Radius was named digital agency of record for Saskatchewan-based telecommunications company SaskTel.

According to Janson Anderson, senior director  of marketing communications and customer experience at SaskTel, the telecom works with local agencies for its branding and advertising initiatives, but saw a need for more specialized insight in order to “enhance SaskTel’s digital properties and communications, and to deliver a leading customer experience in the digital space.” Blast Radius will work alongside a number of local agencies already on the account. The agency was awarded the account  Jan. 30.

Anderson noted that SaskTel sought breadth of experience across all digital channels as well as the technical expertise needed to redesign SaskTel’s digital properties, particularly SaskTel.com. The website redesign will be Blast Radius’ first task as digital agency of record.

Blast Radius will handle strategic, creative and development services for SaskTel’s websites, digital advertising and social media, as well as overall creative platform management in collaboration with SaskTel’s other agencies.

The majority of work on the SaskTel account will be done from Blast Radius’ Vancouver office.
