Hill & Knowlton has promoted Ken Boessenkool to senior vice-president and national director of its public affairs practice, joining the senior management team as its Western Canadian representative.
Boessenkool was appointed general manager, Alberta for Hill & Knowlton in October 2005. Since then, the Alberta offices have grown to more than 20 professionals, including the integration of financial communications company H&K Result.
Before joining Hill & Knowlton, Boessenkool was senior policy advisor to the Conservative Party leader (then leader of the opposition) Stephen Harper. He also owned a Calgary-based consulting practice providing strategic and policy advice to both public and private sector clients.
Jane Savidant, founder of Result (now H&K Result), takes over as general manager of H&K’s Alberta offices, and Tonie Chaltas, who had been doing double duty as national director of the public affairs practice and chief integration officer, will now focus solely on her CIO responsibilities.
