Friedman to take over in Canada on Jan. 1
Publicis-owned media agency ZenithOptimedia has announced Sunni Boot, it’s long-time CEO, will leave her position at the end of 2013.
Frank Friedman, who currently serves as executive vice-president and managing director of ZenithOptimedia in New York, will become CEO of the network’s Canadian operation Jan. 1.
“I have been truly privileged to work in this industry and for ZenithOptimedia,” Boot said in a statement. “It has allowed me to work with intelligent and innovative clients, who have challenged and supported us to deliver outstanding work. Work that was embraced by incredible media partners whose contributions helped fuel success. I consider myself fortunate to the extreme that every day I have been able to walk into an office and work with respected colleagues whose brilliance and humanity I have learned from. I know I leave ZenithOptimedia Canada in great hands, and the next decade will be even better.”
In an internal note to her co-workers, Boot said she was “extremely proud” of the work her agency had accomplished during her time there, “My love for this company is only matched by the passion I have for the industry and for the clients we are fortunate enough to represent. It’s been a wonderful ride.”
The company’s statement said Boot will “work on a number of projects and enjoy extended vacations” following her departure.
In the same statement, Friedman wrote, “I’m excited to assume the lead role in Canada and to continue building on the heritage of success we have enjoyed under Sunni’s leadership. I’m looking forward to deepening our client centric culture which values innovation in our media partnerships, while developing collaborative approaches within our North American Groupe. We have a great management team, many have partnered with me on global client business, so this should be a seamless transition. As the media landscape continues to evolve, I plan to nurture a passionate curiosity that engages our staff and drives our client business forward.”
