Fleishman-Hillard Canada has appointed communication and branding veteran John Bozzo as senior vice-president and partner. He will serve as national healthcare and social services lead.
Bozzo has more than 30 years of corporate communications, public affairs, integrated reputation and brand management experience in both the public and private sector.
He spent the last two-and-a-half years as president of his own practice called JB Communications and Branding, which focused on strategic communications and planning as well as positioning and branding. Prior to this he spent five years at CBC as executive director, English communications and also enjoyed stints at Bell Canada, Ontario Hydro and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
In his new role, Bozzo will focus on growing the firm’s healthcare practice on a national level, in addition to creating and maintaining client relationships.
“I also want to look at how can we improve the work that we do for clients and how can we understand the client in a more holistic way and provide a more integrated approach,” said Bozzo. “I think that’s one of the strengths Fleishman has. They approach their business from an integrated perspective and that’s where a lot of my skill set is.”
“John’s industry expertise and depth of leadership skills make him an excellent fit for this role,” said Mia Pearson, president of Fleishman-Hillard Canada, in a release.
“Not only does he bring decades of experience, but he understands the increasingly digital nature of communications, of brand integration, and the growing need for fully integrated client solutions,” she said. “The team is thrilled to have him on board.”
