Former press secretary joins firm's Toronto office as account manager

Bradley Hammond, a former press secretary to two Ontario premiers, has been appointed as account manager in DDB Public Relations’ corporate affairs practice in Toronto.

Hammond is being charged with reputation management, corporate profiling and lead generation for the Ontario Natural Gas Alliance and will provide issues management and crisis communications counsel to DDB clients as required.

Hammond joins DDB after eight years at Queen’s Park, where, most recently, he was director of communications to the Minster of Energy. He was responsible for all external and internal communications at the Ministry of Energy and recently supervised the crafting and strategic communications rollout of the Ministry’s long-term energy plan.

Before that, Hammond was press secretary to former premier Dalton McGuinty and current premier Kathleen Wynne for 10 months in 2012 and 2013, and associate press secretary from 2010 to 2012.

“Bradley is a proven relationship builder and nimble communications strategist, who remains calm-under-fire while reacting and managing complex issues,” said Martine Lévy, managing director of DDB Public Relations, in a statement.  “He brings considerable media relations expertise and an interesting skill set to our creative environment, while his extensive experience at Queen’s Park is a great asset.”
