Canada’s Hottest Ads – Buzzfeed’s hits and misses

One Advertising's Karen Howe sees branded content upping its game... mostly

Coke tapped some of its deepest roots for inspiration this summer, crafting a video that harkens back to its hillside singers. Karen Howe, senior vice-president and creative director at One Advertising, thinks it’s pretty much bang-on in terms of brand relevance and creative execution. No wonder it was the most watched video ad on YouTube in Canada.

Buzzfeed, however, despite having three videos in July’s Top 10 for Oxy and Honda, is more of a mixed bag. Where one succeeds with great writing, another fails for being little more than a logo show.

Note: This ranking indicates which ads were most watched within Canada. To be included on this ranking, a video must be listed as an ad on YouTube. While Google does not make Canadian viewer statistics available, it determines this ranking with a process that accounts for paid and organic views and how much of a given video viewers watch.
