Politics rears its partisan head on this month’s list of the most-watched ads on YouTube in Canada as Justin Trudeau tackles Conservatives’ claims that he’s “not ready” to be Prime Minister. It’s the one serious note on a list otherwise full of kittens, celebrities and branded content that struggles to appear organic. To that end, Steve Miller, vice-president and creative director of One Method, takes marketers to task for being heavy handed with their product placement.

While Google does not make Canadian viewer statistics available, it determines this ranking with a process that accounts for paid and organic views and how much of a given video viewers watch.
