After wading through all the videos Canadians watched and shared during December’s holiday period, YouTube has released the 10 most-watched ads on its network for the month of December.
Three Canadian ads find themselves on the top 10 list, including two airlines: WestJet, which has found repeated success with surprise-and-delight videos like its latest Holiday Miracle, and Air Canada, which had taken a similar approach.
The theatre chain Cineplex Entertainment, however, ranked highest among Canadian brands on the list with “Lilly & The Snowman,” a short film that kicked off its “See the Big Picture” campaign with a heartwarming tale.
The five spots at the top of the list, however, were less explicitly holiday-themed, with the usual strong performances from GoPro and mobile games Clash of Clans and Boom Beach.
Note: This ranking indicates which ads were most-watched within Canada. To be included on this ranking, a video must be listed as an ad on YouTube. While Google does not make Canadian viewer statistics available, it determines this ranking with a process that accounts for paid and organic views and how much of a given video viewers watch.
