Several Canadians have been named as jury members for the Summit Creative Awards – one of three Summit International Awards programs that honours the work of agencies with annual billings under $30 million.
While the full judging roster won’t be revealed until the end of March, the following Canadians have already been confirmed:
• Pier Lalonde, Pixel & Co.
• Baron Manett, Ariad Communications
• Richard Taylor, RT Strategy
• Jack Adamson, CrackerJack
• Stéphane Veilleux, Brad
• Normand Miron, Ogilvy 2B Interactive
• Christopher Mackay, Tantramar Interactive
According to Lalonde, friendly sparks fly among the jurists during long-hour debates in an effort to identify the best of the best in international creative.
“We’ll cover anything from branding to complete campaigns, honouring work with platinum, gold and bronze awards,” Lalonde said. “The piece that embodies what the word ‘summit’ means – the apex of everything submitted – will be awarded Best of Show.
“What I like about the Summit as an entity is that it addresses smaller billing agencies. It’s not like putting me in a boxing ring with Mike Tyson,” he added, which should appeal to Canadian agencies since the majority of them have annual billings under $30 million.
Companies and individuals from more than 50 countries are participating in the competition, which Jocelyn Luciano, executive director at the Summit International Awards, said, “focuses on the creative and the strength of the big idea.”
Summit International’s other award programs are the Emerging Media and Marketing Effectiveness Awards.
