Montreal-based communications firm Casacom has expanded into Toronto and appointed industry veteran Carolyn Ray to lead the new office.

Marie-Josee Gagnon, president and founder of Casacom, said in a release that the addition of another office will help her agency provide better service to national clients and give the firm a foothold in both English and French-speaking markets.

“When you really want to get great results over time and build better relationships with your clients and provide them with greater results, I think you need to have offices in the two different markets,” said Gagnon. “It’s something that will help us become better at what we do.”

Ray will serve as managing director at the Toronto shop. She comes to the agency from National Public Relations, where she held the title of vice-president, marketing communications.

Ray’s career includes work for clients such as Ford, Walmart and Microsoft. In addition, she teaches a public relations course at Toronto’s Ryerson University.

“[Ray] is very strategic and creative,” said Gagnon. “She’s absolutely capable of leading an office that will have B2B and B2C clients.”

The Toronto office opened this past summer and was officially announced Monday.
