The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has launched a search for a public relations partner for its English-language services.

In a posting yesterday on the governmental tender website MERX, the public broadcaster said it is seeking a “best-in-class” agency to provide planning, execution and activation of “key outreach” and publicity events in support of its English programming, talent and services.

The RFP outlines a broad purview that includes publicity services for red carpet events, event planning and execution, public engagement promotion, event list management, drafting remarks (speakers notes or presentation content) and expertise in planning in ideation.

The contract is for two years with an option for a third. “The successful agency will have the experience, expertise and creative talent to produce events and outreach that break through the cluttered media environment to me,” said the tender.

The search is limited to agencies in business a minimum of five years with a minimum of $5 million in annual billings. The winning agency must also have provided similar publicity and promotion services to a “major media content company,” along with previous experience planning and execution of television outreach and events. Veritas has held the account since June, 2010.

Proposals are due Jan. 16.
