Colour has hit the jackpot with its latest account win.

The Halifax-based agency has been awarded the lion’s share of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s creative business. Colour will handle ALC’s instant scratch and win products, an assignment previously held by Extreme Group, and the jackpot division. According to ALC, the two-year deal is valued at $5.2 million for Colour, and includes three one-year options for renewal.

ALC began an agency review last October, and announced its new agency lineup this week. Joining Colour on the ALC roster are M5 Marketing Communications, handling creative for the sports and interactive portion of the account, an assignment worth $1.3 million over two years, and Revolve 360 branding will spearhead creative efforts for the corporate brand, good for $1.1 million.

Aside from Extreme Group, Bristol Group, Cossette Atlantic, Hawk and SGCI comprised ALC’s previous creative roster. Hawk will continue to head the creative for special assignments.

“We think it’s an important organization in the Atlantic Canadian social fabric and there is a glorious opportunity [to be] leaders in the community through the products they serve and the value they deliver to customers,” said Colour president, Chris Keevil. “It’s something to be celebrated.”

He said Colour laid the groundwork for the win more than a year ago, when the agency first approached ALC—without any knowledge of when a review would be called—to present what it considered a new approach to communications.

Colour is meeting with ALC this week for a creative brief, but Keevil is unsure when new creative will launch. Colour has supplied ALC with PR services for the past two years and will service the account from its Halifax, Moncton, and St. John’s offices.
