Jason Chaney has joined Cossette’s Toronto office as senior vice-president, strategy.

Chaney was most recently vice-president of strategy at LG2 in Montreal. Prior to that, he was VP strategy and innovation at Tribal DDB, where he was the strategic lead on McDonald’s Canada’s breakthrough “Our Food, Your Questions” campaign.

Over the past few months, Vision7-owned Cossette has been bolstering its upper ranks with a series of new hires. Andrea Cook, former SVP, managing director at Proximity, joined Cossette in December as SVP, national client lead.

In September, advertising heavyweights Dave Lafond and Glen Hunt joined the agency. Lafond, formerly president of Proximity Canada, was appointed president of Cossette’s English operations, while Hunt, formerly creative catalyst of Dentsu Canada, joined Cossette as chief transformational officer.

The addition of Chaney “adds to the momentum we’ve been building with the infusion of new top-level talent across disciplines, including digital expertise in particular,” said Lafond, in a release. “With his broad experience in consumer and business strategy and his successful involvement in game-changing ideas on really big brands, Jay brings the right kind of leadership to help our agency further develop our integrated strategic offering.”
