Cossette hires James Bibby

Digital pro joins the agency's Toronto office as director of strategic technology

Cossette continues to bulk up its digital and strategic team with the appointment of James Bibby to the role of director of strategic technology, a newly created position within the agency’s Toronto office.

Bibby, who began work at Cossette on Jan. 5, most recently served as head of development and delivery for Toronto-based tech start-up Nuvango, and is the co-founder of tech consulting company, Desato.

Bibby has also been employed by Blast Radius, and ran his own development shop, Fortune Cookie, where he held the position of chief technology officer.

“James embodies our values of entrepreneurial spirit, passion and positivity, integrity, and creativity and collaboration,” Joe Dee, vice-president of product and technology strategy at Cossette told Marketing. “He’s been a technology leader in multiple agencies and has been very successful throughout his career. We were looking to really strengthen our strategic technology offering in Toronto and James was a perfect fit, both from a culture and experience perspective.”

Bibby’s appointment comes on the heels of a number of key hires in digital and strategic planning at Cossette. Last year the agency appointed Jason Chaney to the position of senior vice-president, strategic planning, while Greg Shortall and Jamie George were named associate creative directors. At Cossette’s Vancouver office, Michael Milardo was recently promoted to executive creative director, while Nicolas Strauss became head of strategy.

“We’re committed to thinking and acting in a fully integrated way,” Dee added. “Digital has been an area we’ve been focused on rounding out over the past few years. The foundation has been laid and we’re excited to see our clients benefiting from the investments we’ve made. We’re looking forward to a great year in 2015.”
