Cossette Toronto has hired Sean Barlow and Joe Piccolo as creative directors.

Barlow was most recently group creative director at Leo Burnett Toronto. During his nearly 14 years there, his clients included Bounce North America (Procter and Gamble), Zellers, Visa Canada, Moosehead Breweries and James Ready.

Piccolo was most recently vice-president and group creative director at DraftFCB. During his 11 years there, he worked on accounts including TD Waterhouse, Ontario Lotteries and Fairmont Hotels.

Barlow and Piccolo will become the lead creative team on the McDonald’s account, which was previously led by David Daga and Matt Litzinger, Cossette’s co-chief creative officers. Daga and Litzinger will, in turn, now focus more strengthening the agency’s creative product and overall integrated solutions.

We spent a lot of time making sure that we found the perfect team to take over where we’re leaving off,” said Daga in a release. “By putting Sean and Joe together, we feel we’re creating a great team with a surplus of leadership and talent.”

Paulo Leone, most recently with Publicis Canada, was also recently hired to join the McDonald’s team as strategic planning director. McDonald’s Canada and another of its agency partners, TribalDDB, won a Gold Cyber Lion for the “Our Food. Your Questions” platform in Cannes last week.
