E-Comm 9-1-1, the emergency response centre for most of British Columbia, has selected Cossette Vancouver for media, strategy and creative duties after an account review.

Michael Milardo, the agency’s creative director, said the first public awareness and education program will launch by the end of this year, and another larger campaign is planned for fall of 2014.

Milardo said Cossette will focus on challenges faced by the 9-1-1 system such as accidental calls often by pocket dialers and non-emergency calls.

The tagline for the upcoming campaign will be “Help us help.”

Cossette was chosen from 14 short-listed agencies. The now defunct Station X was the incumbent.
