Cundari is continuing its rapid growth with a number of additions and promotions on its accounts team.
The most senior new hire is Catherine Klunder, who joins the independent agency as group account director for Jamieson, OLG and Purolator. Klunder was an account director at DentsuBos and before that at 360i Canada, and has worked with brands like Manulife and Lindt.
Jennifer Cunningham and Anne-Marie Dontigny also came on as account directors. Cunningham will focus on Cundari’s top client, BMW, having worked in the past on automotive accounts like Toyota for DentsuBos. Dontigny comes from a marketing position at Dairy Farmers of Canada and before that at Cora.
Internally, Cundari promoted Madjid Hamidi to senior account executive, Chris Vigmond to account executive, Krisztina Virag to account supervisor and Filipe da Luz to account director.
Beyond the accounts team, Cundari also hired Melanie Filipp as marketing and PR manager, to lead the agency’s self-promotional efforts and industry profile building. She was earned media strategist at Harbinger, where she worked on Unilever and Molson Coors, and before that was an account coordinator at Knot PR.
Bora Alap, a recent Humber College advertising graduate, was hired as interactive designer. On the media team, Eric Battiston was hired as a media associate, after completing his internship with the agency in the fall.
The additions follow five hires Cundari made in October. At the time CEO Aldo Cundari said the agency was looking for talent in a variety of fields, both in and outside the agency world.
“We’re starting to attract a massive pool of really good talent. People that want to do innovative things — things they can’t always do at a multinational,” he said. “We don’t belong to anybody, so we can decide we don’t need a large bottom line to justify what we’re doing.”
