Cynthia Heyd goes solo with new content-focused project

Former Taxi exec opens up a shop and lands her former employer as a client

A shifting marketplace with its thirst for content has led Cynthia Heyd, a former VP at Taxi, to launch her own small, specialized shop.

“There is enormous change going on in the industry and brands need more and more content,” Heyd told Marketing.

Her new project is called Heyd & Seek and will give the 25-year advertising veteran a flexible platform for creating campaigns and content for clients.

“There is no one solution these days and every client needs a unique approach and a unique team,” she said.

“I curate that. I want to leverage my years of experience to help brands tell more stories, and I believe there is a huge opportunity in this for the production and creative community. I’m really excited.”

Heyd said she will also provide production leadership and planning through her new venture, which is starting as a solo project but will likely expand over the coming months. She has signed Taxi as her first client.

Her departure comes on the heels of a big shakeup at Taxi following the loss of a key account in Telus.

Rob Guenette, North America’s Taxi president and CEO, said the firm will maintain close ties with Heyd.

“We continue to work with Cynthia as she challenges industry norms to deliver the best content solutions for brands across a wide variety of categories. She is brilliant at what she does,” he said, in a press release.

Heyd held her job as VP of integrated production at Taxi for eight years.
