With the Christmas holiday quickly approaching, Marketing’s mailbox is stuffed with seasonal salutations and merriment. Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing a few of our favourites.
DDB Canada has spent much of the last year rallying Canadians to join the fight against cancer through its award-winning work for the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).
The agency is at it again with a “Check-in for a Cure” holiday fundraising game. Over 100 virtual venues have been created at DDB and CCS offices across the country, with the agency donating $5 for every person that checks into one of these locations using a smartphone (up to $10,000).
You can check-in to the venues using Foursquare or Facebook Places, or from a computer by visiting the campaign site {http://ddbcanada.com/holiday/}.
The landing page contains a series of moving illustrations, all of which “represent some of the characters and items that have entertained and inspired DDBers in 2010.” As more donations are made, the images become livelier. Some contain links to videos and the agency’s Twitter feed.
