Okanagan Spring has chosen Dare Vancouver as its agency of record following a creative review.

The Sleeman-owned beer brand has an annual marketing budget of $750,000. For the past three years it has run the award-winning “Sponsor me Spring” campaign created by TBWA\Vancouver. After that agency was dismantled last year, the account stayed with its successor, Station X, until the recent review.

“It was a good time to take a look at a new agency and get fresh eyes,” said Glen Jessup, Sleeman’s marketing manager.

Jessup said Okanagan’s competition is increasing from new entrants in the craft beer segment from both sides of the border, as well from a huge movement towards value beers.

Okanagan will soon conduct consumer research before undertaking a complete brand review and repositioning over the next three to five years, Jessup said.

Okanagan chose Dare from six shortlisted agencies. Dare’s sister agency Jungle Media won the media assignment.
