Less than a week after their departure from DS+P was announced, Denise Rossetto and Todd Mackie are taking the creative reins at BBDO Canada.
The newly appointed SVP executive creative directors join BBDO as it undergoes major changes at the top. Last month Gerry Frascione, the agency’s chairman and CEO, resigned from the organization and was replaced by Dom Caruso, who in a statement said, “I’m on a mission to build the team and culture that will take full advantage of what BBDO Canada has to offer for its clients.”
Mackie and Rossetto have been working together in some capacity for over a decade. Rossetto joined Mackie at Cossette in 2002, during which time Caruso was president. They both joined DDB Toronto in 2004, eventually becoming executive creative directors.
After a successful stint at DDB, the pair departed in 2014 and joined DS+P as partners, heading the creative team until their departure last week.
The duo replaces longtime creative leaders Carlos Moreno and Peter Ignazi, who joined Cossette in February as chief creative officers.
