Doug Agency is challenging the industry to find a little love in their heart for colleagues who had a tough year.

The team at the Toronto-based agency has kick-started donations to the "Friends of NABS" campaign with a $500 contribution and their own inspirational take on "Put a Little Love in Your Heart."

"It’s been an extremely challenging year for our industry," said agency founder and chairman Doug Robinson, in a release. "We had developed a fun and inspiring holiday video for our clients around the classic holiday hit… and it occurred to us that we could be using this video, and the spirit in which it was created, to try and do some good for those who need assistance in the communications industry this holiday season."

Doug and NABS are sharing the video across the industry in the hope of encouraging more donations, with the goal of raising $10,000.

"We have seen a record demand in 2009 for our confidential counseling and financial support services that are used by industry colleagues and their families," said Mike Fenton, president and CEO of NABS. "Donations are very important to us, as they help us meet this increased demand."
