DougSerge+Partners (DS+P) has launched a design arm.
Called DS+Pdesign (branded in lowercase), the new division will handle everything from package design to websites, apps, brochures, logos, corporate branding and point-of-sale materials.
DS+Pdesign is a division of the agency rather than a new company, according to partner DS+P Doug Robinson.
Robinson told Marketing the agency decided to launch a design division due to client demand. DS+P has already done design projects for brands like Miele, Mucho Burrito and Canada Goose.
“It came down to the amount of design work we’re doing in this area now,” he said. “We’re an integrated communication agency, which believes in ‘creative for commerce.’ This simple idea helps us showcase the value we can add for our clients.”
While the new division won’t change the type of business the agency pitches, Robinson said it would, “open the door for outside clients to come to [DP+S] with design-only projects.”
Robinson is heading up the division along with a dedicated group of senior designers. As business demand grows, Robinson said DS+P may look to beef up its design staff, but said the hiring is currently “as needed.”
