Duncan Bruce has been named CEO of Publicis Canada, effective immediately.
The new role marks a promotion for Bruce, who had been president and chief creative officer. The CEO role was previously held by his brother Andrew Bruce, who was named CEO of Publicis North America in 2013.
According to the agency, Bruce’s promotion to the CEO role is a result of how his vision has contributed to the growth of the agency.
“When you turn the attention of a regarded creative veteran toward the transformation imperative that is quickly separating those that flourish from those that falter, incredible things happen,” said Andrew Bruce, in a release.
“The changes shaping our operation capitalize on the rich opportunities available to our clients, their brands and businesses. Duncan is leading that change and, in doing so, fortifying and fueling our future.”
Publicis Canada chairman Yves Gougoux added, “Duncan’s pedigree is undeniable. He’s won almost every award out there and played a pivotal role in the growth of our Canadian operation. I can think of no better partner to lead us into the future. This is a great day for Publicis.”
Bruce has been with Publicis for more than 15 years, first as a creative director and then president and CCO.
His promotion follows the recent hiring of Max Valiquette, who joined the senior ranks of the agency as vice-president of strategic planning in September.
