An Ottawa-based company is looking to capitalize on consumers’ attempts to eat healthy in the new year with Wednesday’s launch of Enerjive’s Quinoa Skinny Crackers in Eastern Canada.

Enerjive, which was created by naturopath Joel Villeneuve and health food spokesperson Korey Kealey, is positioning its gluten-free crackers as a healthy alternative to snacks that have large amounts of sugar and sodium.

As many people set food-related new year’s resolutions, Kealey and Villeneuve are going on a media tour in Ontario and New Brunswick to talk about health goals and their product.

“With the new year, people are looking to make healthy choices, and quinoa is one of the best foods you can eat,” Villeneuve said. “Nutrients in this super food contain magnesium, iron, calcium and antioxidants. These all help you stay lean, balance your hormones and slow down the aging process.”

Enerjive has booked appearances on CTV Morning Live in Halifax and Ottawa as well as CH Morning Live in Hamilton, Ont., according to Merkato Communications, which is handling the PR push. The brand is also planning several product demonstrations and samplings in the coming weeks in order to communicate the product’s health benefits at the store level.
