Extreme Group has named Clare Tidby to the re-created position of director of client services, repatriating the executive to the agency world after she spent several years on the client side of the marketing industry.

Tidby joins the agency from her previous role as director of marketing and sponsorship for the 2011 Canada Games, which were held in Halifax in February. Extreme Group was the agency of record for that event.

Tidby’s experience also includes marketing roles at ESRI Canada and Novalis Technologies, as well as a stint as account executive and creative operations manager at Halifax agency Colour.

Tidby’s position has been vacant for several years. Former Extreme Group president Andrew Doyle handed some of the responsibilities of the role. Doyle resigned in December 2010 and was replaced just weeks ago by Geoff Craig, who is based in the agency’s Toronto office.

“Now that we have moved that presidential role to Toronto, it left a gap here in terms of account leadership,” said Paul Leblanc, CEO of Extreme Group.
