Faulhaber Communications is expanding with new account wins, staff additions and an expanded designer showroom and office.
The Toronto-based public relations agency has added seven new clients in the past few months: AyA Kitchens, a “green” kitchen manufacturer; Community Creative; Fruits & Passion; The Social Group, the company behind Toronto hotspots like The Hoxton, Parts & Labour; and Dog & Bear; Toronto Life; Track Fitness; and Trinity Taverna, a Greek restaurant in Toronto.
Christine Faulhaber, the agency’s president, said only Fruits & Passion was the result of an RFP – the rest of the business came from referrals. “The last thing I ever want is to have my reputation scarred by a bad client experience, so we work very diligently and hard to always be successful to our clients,” said Faulhaber. “And if that means over-servicing, we do, because a happy client is someone that is going to refer.”
The agency’s first campaign for Fruits & Passion launched earlier this month. The #LookBeyond campaign promotes Beyond, an eco-beauty brand from Korea that recently launched in Fruits & Passion stores. In addition to traditional PR tactics like media outreach, the campaign includes blogger outreach, a microsite, Facebook campaign and contest that gives entrants the chance to win an eco adventure in the Galapagos Islands.
Faulhaber said Fruits & Passion is looking for what every other client is looking for these days: a combined traditional and non-traditional PR experience. “They’re no longer just looking for traditional [media outreach], like ‘can you do a desk-side [meeting] and can you send a package,’” said Faulhaber. “It’s ‘can you engage my consumer, can you engage my tastemaker, can you engage my editor and how are you going to roll it all into a fabulous package?’”
To accommodate the new business and clients’ growing content and community needs, three people were added to the Faulhaber Communications team: Shannon Law was hired as an account manager; Geneva Bokowski joins the agency as content and community manager and Ilona Khoyker joins as a senior account executive.
Faulhaber has also doubled its space in Toronto’s historic Carpet Factory Building in Liberty Village. The agency’s 3,200 sq. ft. digs include office space and a new designer showroom called FShop. The showroom houses brands like Ted Baker clothing, Dermalogica, Fidelity Denim and Elte carpets, putting the brands directly in the hands of media and influencers.
