Former Google exec joins Pilot PMR in director role

Wendy Bairos is a 'creative thinker and problem solver' says agency CEO

Wendy Bairos, Google Canada’s former communications and public affairs manager, has joined Toronto-based Pilot PMR as its director of media relations.

Bairos joined Google in 2003, and oversaw the tech brand’s expansion into Canada including the launch of YouTube. During her tenure, she worked on various Google products including Search, Maps, Ads, Android and Enterprise.

Bairos was instrumental in helping Google’s Cultural Institute and Play Music teams raise the profile of Canadian artists. She also brought the company’s Doodle 4 Google competition to Canada in partnership with the Royal Ontario Museum.

She continues to work in an advisory role with startups at Ryerson University’s Digital Media Zone and the Canadian Film Centre’s IdeaBoost and sits on the advisory board of the Luminato Festival.

“Wendy is an immense talent,” said Pilot PMR founder and CEO David Doze, in a statement.  “Her experience with Google has given her strong relationships with the media and important insights into business, marketing, and modern communications within today’s evolving landscape. She is a creative thinker and problem solver, and will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”
