Zulu Alpha Kilo is bolstering its creative department with the addition of its newest creative director Sean Ganann, who starts at the Toronto-based agency Jan. 17.

Ganann, who has a strong background in digital, comes to Zulu from Campfire in New York where he helped develop Discovery Channel‘s Frenzied Waters campaign (named by Mashable as one of the “10 impressive new implementations of Facebook Connect”).

He has also served stints at Anomaly, Saatchi & Saatchi Australia and helped build the creative department at Australian digital shop NetX.

“I’ve been impressed with Zulu’s work and agency model from afar,” said Ganann, in a release. “Digital isn’t a department at the agency. It’s just baked into the agency’s DNA.”

Zulu operates as one creative department, said Zak Mroueh, agency creative director and president. “With digital’s coming of age, the traditional agencies have had to tear down walls between departments. We never had them to begin with.

“With [Ganann’s] international experience and technological expertise, he’ll really help us take Zulu’s work to some really unexpected places both digitally and beyond,” said Mroueh.
