Following a formal review, Oshawa Centre, a shopping mall in the Greater Toronto Area, has selected Grip Ltd. to oversee the marketing aspects of its $230-million expansion and redevelopment.

According to Harvey Carroll, president and partner at Grip, three agencies made the shortlist and Grip was awarded the business because of its “sound strategic approach to how the mall would move forward with the renovations.”

Grip will be handling creative and social media for the centre, as well as assisting on the business-to-business side to target and acquire new retailers.

Carroll didn’t provide details as to what the campaign will look like, but did say the first work is likely to appear at the beginning of next year.

The expansion and redevelopment of Oshawa Centre is slated to be completed in spring 2016.

Founded in 2002, Toronto-based Grip’s client roster includes Honda Canada Inc. Dare, Johnson and Johnson and The Sunnybrook Foundation.
