Hill+Knowlton Strategies expanded its national presence Wednesday with the opening of a new office in Regina.

The two-person office will focus on providing public affairs and communication services in the areas of natural resources, energy, environment, transportation, health and trade.

While the agency doesn’t disclose which companies it works with, Joy Jennissen, senior vice president of the Western office, said the firm has a good base of “blue chip” clients that are national in scope, but based in Saskatchewan.

“That’s a real demonstration of the landscape. We felt very confident coming in that we had a good client base to start with,” she said, referring to the amount of work this area of the country has to offer.

Prior to the Regina office opening, H+K had only one associate based in Saskatoon and the client load was too heavy for one person to manage, said Jennissen.

Lance Donison, who joined the company in 2011, is leading the Regina office, which is housed within the city’s historic Prince Edward Building.

Jennissen said Hill+Knowlton is looking to increase the number of staff members working in the Regina, and may open another location in Saskatoon within the year.

Hill+Knowlton also has offices in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal and Québec City.
