Advertising agency Woodruff Sweitzer has started a “Tree of Hope” that allows individuals to support the Canadian Cancer Society and the American Cancer Society by re-tweeting the following message:

“Please support cancer research to help friends everywhere. Retweet to help light up our #tree_of_hope http://www.woodruffsweitzer.ca/treeofhope

Susan Groeneveld, partner at Woodruff Sweitzer, which has offices in Alberta and Missouri, said the Tree of Hope – which lights up more as tweet volume increases – was insprired by clients and co-workers who are fighting cancer.

“This has given our work and our relationships greater meaning and for that we are grateful,” she said. “Tweeting at Christmas reminds us that it is easy to give and as individuals we can make a difference.”

So far, the message has been re-tweeted over 165 times.
