When it came time to launch the out-of-home component of its “Holiday Bill” campaign, Interac and Zulu Alpha Kilo partnered with the oldest shop in the country — Mother Nature.
An extension of Interac’s “Holiday Bill” holiday campaign, which encourages consumers to pay with debit and avoid a hefty January credit card bill, ZAK created three winter-themed installations and placed them in heavily-trafficked areas of Toronto’s downtown core.
On Dec. 11, the morning of Toronto’s first significant snowfall of the season, a huge snowball comprised of credit card bills and actual snow was placed on a busy corner in the financial district. Beside it was a sandwich board with copy reading “Don’t let debt snowball.”
The following day, a half melted snowman appeared at the intersection of Yonge and Eglinton bearing the warning, “Don’t get burned by credit fees.”
The third installation was erected at Yonge and Dundas Square. This time, the sandwich board read, “Kiss credit fees goodbye” and had a sprig of mistletoe attached, encouraging passer-by to show Interac (and each other) a little love.
