Taxi executive creative director Jordan Doucette is leaving the agency to become executive creative director at PR firm Edelman Toronto.

Doucette (pictured) has been with Taxi since 2005, working on several of its top-tier clients, including Telus, Mini Cooper and McCain. She will assume her new job on May 5.

“Throughout her career, Jordan has distinguished herself by constantly pushing boundaries, overseeing ground-breaking campaigns, positively transforming client relationships, and drawing on an incredible talent for communication and collaboration to make a meaningful business impact,” wrote Lisa Kimmel, the PR firm’s general manager, in a blog post announcing Doucette’s appointment.

More PR firms are building their creative credentials to address shifting client needs. Hill & Knowlton recently announced the hiring of its first national creative director, Chris Davies, formerly of Bimm.

Edelman currently has a 12-person creative department. “As the marketing landscape has changed dramatically over the last several years, we have been firmly committed to expanding our creative offering, not only in scope but in ambition,” said Kimmel.
