Mike Krafczyk is going back to his agency roots by joining David Walker and Andrew Samuel as a partner in Saint Bernadine Mission Communications of Vancouver.
Krafczyk has spent almost two years as manager of travel smart with Translink, Metro Vancouver’s transportation authority. Prior to that he was at BC Hydro where he developed the PowerSmart brand and managed the company’s sponsorship of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
His early agency experience includes stints at BBDO, Cossette, Copeland and Lanyon Phillips Communications.
As a newly minted partner, Krafczyk will lead the account planning, strategy and services group.
“As some of our clients have got bigger and the demands of our business have grown, we felt that someone of his experience would help not only our clients, but would complement myself and Andrew and our team and help us reach even further success,” said Walker, who co-founded the agency in 2005. “I can’t imagine that there are too many people in Western Canada with his experience.”
St. Bernadine has 16 staff members and works with a client list that includes BC Hydro, Granville Island and Shaw Communications. The agency recently won branding assignments for the Long Table Distillery, the James Hotel in Saskatoon, Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee and the EJM Construction Group.
“This is an opportunity to do some great work with people I really admire and respect, they have a terrific team that does work that is being recognized all over North America,” Krafczyk said. “I’ve been looking for an opportunity to get back into the agency business and they’ve got the full package – a lot of talent, a lot of potential and I’m really honoured to have the opportunity to play a part in it.”
