Betsy Cooper joins the PR firm's global leadership team

Betsy Cooper FullBetsy Cooper has been named managing director of public relations firm Kwittken Toronto.

The Canadian office of PR firm Kwittken opened last October as a division inside the office of its parent company, KBS Toronto,  a MDC Partners shop. Kwittken also has offices in New York and London.

Cooper has more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, leading and developing media relations, social media and crisis communications strategies on both the agency and client side.

Most recently, Cooper led her own communications agency in Vancouver, where she provided counsel to both national and multinational corporations in the food, travel and lifestyle sectors. Cooper has also held senior positions at Labatt Breweries of Canada, Harbinger Communications and Thornley Fallis Communications.

“We are very excited to be welcoming Betsy to Kwittken Canada,” said Aaron Kwittken, global chairman and CEO, in a statement. “Our first several months operating in Canada have proven to be exceptionally positive, and Betsy will be instrumental in sustaining and accelerating our momentum.”  He said the agency has been working with several clients in the retail, financial services, food and travel fields.

KBS acquired a majority interest in Kwittken in 2010. Its clients include Procter & Gamble, Sharp Electronics and American Express.
